Areas of Focus

The health of Monroe County’s citizens and its environment depend heavily upon economic activity.  Economic development should take place in a way that will enhance the citizen’s quality of life.  The Soil & Water Conservation District can provide an important perspective regarding soil and water resources.  Following are some of the ways the Soil & Water Conservation District can have an impact:

 

  • The board of supervisors and district staff can participate in economic development discussions concerning conservation in Monroe County.

 

  • The Soil & Water Conservation District can utilize working relationships with other county agencies and non traditional partners.

 

  • By the promotion of conservation projects throughout the entire county and fostering partnership with other surrounding Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

 

  • Through seeking funding opportunities such as grants to support conservation programs and activities.
